For my architectural design, I picked the Queen Anne. The Queen Anne's peak period of architecture was 1880-1900. The style was made very popular by Richard Norman Shaw as he implied ideas from from the Reign of Queen Anne. Some key features in the Queen Anne include overhanging eaves, round or square towers, dutch gables, spindal work, wooden slate roof, and horizontal bands of leaded windows. These are just a few of the most important features out of many (also the ones I tried to implement in). Unfortunately, due to time, I wasn't able to finish my roof on my tower or make a porch. I find this architecture style to have value, because the Queen Anne was a universal symbol of prosperity, community, and family in the late 19th Century that won the heart of the nation. These houses were not just pleasing to look at but pleasant for families and gathering of all kinds since they were about everywhere. This house could definitely qualify for one of the most memorable houses of America.
